Rick Davis brings over three decades of experience in agriculture and construction dealership management to Davis Family Auctions. A graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Economics, Rick has spent his entire career supporting Indiana’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.
His deep commitment to service is reflected both in his professional work and personal life. Rick actively serves on his local fire department and has held leadership roles on the Western Boone School Board, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, and as past president of the Indiana Beef Cattle Association.
Driven by integrity, community values, and a passion for agriculture, Rick leads Davis Family Auctions with a hands-on approach and a strong dedication to those he serves.
After graduating from high school in the small town of Lexington Ohio, Tim left the family farm and joined the United States Marine Corps. He served as a Non-Commissioned Officer, specializing in Crash, Fire and Rescue. His service afforded him the opportunity to work in various locations in the United States, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.
After living on the West Coast for over three decades, Tim relocated to Central Indiana with his wife Susan. His sons and extended family live nearby.
Tim brings with him over 30 years of experience in heavy equipment rental, sales, finance, auctions, and valuations. For the last 15 years, his focus has been auctions. The majority of that time was spent with Big Orange and one of its online partners, where he was awarded Rookie of the Year.
In his spare time he enjoys fishing, exploring the outdoors and serving the local community through his church. He looks forward to helping his friends and customers take their heavy construction equipment, agricultural items, and utility trucks to market and achieving the maximum market value.
Eric Ponton brings a lifetime of hands-on farming experience and a deep-rooted passion for agricultural and construction equipment to the industry. Raised on a small farm in northeast La Porte County, Indiana, Eric’s career began in his early teens when he started buying, using, and reselling equipment—a hobby that quickly evolved into a profitable and educational venture.
Over the years, Eric continued to farm while gaining valuable off-farm experience, including a pivotal five-year role with Luke Goetz. There, he transitioned into equipment sales and quickly discovered his true professional calling. This passion led him to a dedicated sales role at an agricultural equipment dealership, where he spent another five years sharpening his skills, expanding his knowledge, and building lasting relationships throughout the ag community.
In 2021, a personal health scare shifted Eric’s priorities, leading him to focus more on his career in equipment and spend meaningful time with his family. This turning point deepened his commitment to serving customers with honesty, integrity, and unmatched industry insight.
Eric is known for his ability to source hard-to-find equipment, navigate supply chain challenges, and help farmers and contractors find the right tools for their operations. His unique blend of farming experience, sales expertise, and genuine customer care make him a trusted partner in the ag and equipment world.
When he’s not working, Eric enjoys time at home with his wife and two daughters, continuing to farm on a smaller scale, and staying connected to the rural lifestyle that shaped his path.
